Martin Complex
Frameless Giclée prints mounted to floated aluminum panels. Location: The Martin, a newly built 27-story residential building in downtown Seattle.
This project had two main goals. Firstly, to capture images for common areas featuring the essence of the Cinerama Theater which sits adjacent to the Martin. The vintage Cinerama theater was saved from the wrecking ball in the ‘80s by Paul Allen who generously purchased the theater and gave it needed restoration. The original name of the Cinerama was the Martin, hence the name for this new residential building owned by Mr. Allen’s company; Vulcan Real Estate. To this first goal an additional classic Seattle cityscape was added for a conference room, and an image featuring dogs for a bit of humor. The second project goal was to capture images of historical theaters in Seattle (or what replaced them) to be paired with historical images obtained from the Seattle Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) for a “Then and Now” theme all in B&W.
