Photography Challenge Entries : These are just some of the many competition images I have submitted. As I write this in the summer of 2012 my competition days are mostly behind me as I concentrate on other photographic pursuits. This gallery can be seen as a timeline showing how my photography skills have progressed (I hope so anyway) since the last page entries done in 2005. Much of that progression was the direct result of doing competitions. I got to know some very nice people through competing as well. Each competition had at least some processing restrictions and some were very restrictive and limited the amount of "pop" I could give the image.

Ships of the Northwest : Most images in this gallery were originally shot for a UK company to use with their computer and smartphone applications. The apps pull up icons on a map with GPS, and clicking on the icons pulls up the ship images and other vessel info. All images had to be of vessels broadcasting MMSI numbers (what the apps need for identification)- this made the hunt for targets a real challenge! I will still add to this gallery periodically but did the bulk of the shooting in April/May of 2011. *Images are displayed in alphabetical order with ship name and MMSI number in caption below each image.
